Courtney Thorne-Smith is an American actress. Her Hollywood career started in the mid-1980s with her debut as Stacey Hamilton in the TV series Fast Times. At the same time, she also had roles in the films Welcome to 18, Lucas, and Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise. She later had notable roles in the shows Day By Day and L.A. Law. In the ’90s, she played Alison Parker in the television series Melrose Place. After it ended, she played Georgia Thomas in the show Ally McBeal. In the 2000s, she was best known for her role as Cheryl in According to Jim. More recently, she’s best known for her portrayal of Lyndsey McElroy in the sitcom Two and a Half Men.
