Biography:

Ioan Gruffudd was born on 6 October 1973 in Llwydcoed, Aberdare, Wales. He got his drama training from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. During this period, he first began acting in Welsh films. In 1997, he portrayed Harold Lowe in the Hollywood feature Titanic, gaining him notice. In the UK, he became known for his lead role in the series Horatio Hornblower.

His film credits became more prolific in the 2000s. He gained recognition for his works in the movies 102 Dalmatians, Black Hawk Down, King Arthur, Fantastic Four and its sequel, and W. From 2010 to 2011, he played the lead role Andrew Martin in the short-lived series Ringer. He had also lead roles in the shows Forever and Liar. This year, he stars as the lead role in the Australian series Harrow.
