Cassie Ventura was born on August 26, 1986 in New London, Connecticut, USA. Her career started when she met record producer Ryan Leslie in 2002.

She released her self-titled debut studio album in August 2006, which peaked at number four on Billboard 200. The single Me & U also became a major hit in 2006.

As a model, she has appeared in ad campaigns for Calvin Klein, Adidas, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Seventeen. She has also ventured into acting, appearing in her first film role as Sophie Donovan in Step Up 2: The Streets.
