Bridget Fonda was born on January 27, 1964 in Los Angeles, California to a family of actors, including her aunt Jane Fonda. She started performing when she was in school through theater. She later attended Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute at NYU where she studied method acting. She graduated in 1986. After this, she made her debut in the British anthology film Aria in 1987.
She next appeared in the films You Can’t Hurry Love, Scandal, Shag, and Strapless in the late 1980s. In 1990, she played Grace Hamilton in The Godfather Part III. She became further known for starring as Allison Jones in Single White Female, as Maggie Hayward in Point of No Return, and Yvonne Biasi in It Could Happen to You. She went on to star as Melanie Ralston in Jackie Brown and as Kelly Scott in Lake Placid. Her last work on the screen before retiring was as the title role on the TV movie Snow Queen.
