Biography:

Benjamin McKenzie was born on September 12, 1978 in Austin, Texas, USA. He attended the University of Virginia where he majored in Foreign Affairs and Economics from 1997 to 2001.

He made his first television appearance in an episode of the series The District. In 2005, he starred as Johnny Johnsten in Junebug, for which he won the Amanda Award for Outstanding Performance In Feature Film.

He was then cast as Ryan Atwood in the series The O.C., which became highly successful and established him as a well-known actor and earned him several Teen Choice Award nominations.
