Zendaya Coleman was born on September 1, 1996 in Oakland, California, USA. She studied acting at CalShakes Conservatory Program and at the American Conservatory Theater.

Her first film role was as Halley Brandon in the 2012 Disney Channel Original Movie Frenemies. She followed it with a voice work in the Pixie Hollow Games.

She continued to gain further recognition for her role as Rocky Blue in the Disney Channel sitcom Shake It Up. She also ventured into music, releasing her first single “Swag It Out”, followed with “Watch Me”.
