Biography:

Yuliya Snigir was born on June 2, 1983 in Donskoy, Tulskaya Oblast, RSFSR, USSR. She played chess professionally and was awarded the title of Candidate of Chess Master by International Chess Federation at age 15.

She moved to Moscow where she attended State Pedagogical University. When a friend showed her photos to an agent, her modeling career began. After her successful stint as a model, she ventured into acting where she got accepted at the Vakhtangov Theatre Academy.

She then rose to fame when she won the female lead in the Russian film The Inhabited Island and in the Hollywood film A Good Day to Die Hard.
