Biography:

Winona Ryder was born on October 29, 1971 in Winona, Minnesota. She moved to California with her parents when she was 10 and enrolled in acting classes at the American Conservatory Theatre. She made her film debut in Lucas.

Her first significant role was in Beetlejuice, which won her critical recognition. She got further critical acclaim playing Veronica in Heathers.

In 1993, she won a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in The Age of Innocence, as well as an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role in Little Women the following year.
