Tulisa Contostavlos was born on July 13, 1988 in Camden, London, England. She first gained prominence as a member of the now defunct hip hop group N-Dubz, which was formed in 2000 but took a temporary hiatus in 2011 after releasing three albums. The following year, she announced that the group had split up for good.
From 2011 to 2012, she served as a judge in The X Factor, replacing Cheryl Cole. She mentored the “Groups” category in her first year, including Little Mix, which went on to become the first group to win the competition.
She then released her debut solo album, The Female Boss, in November 2012, to negative reviews and low sales. It was recently reported that she has begun working on a new album.
