Hollywood star Tamala Jones had her career beginnings during the 1990s. She debuted in the 1995 film How to Make an American Quilt. That same year, she had her first TV appearance in The Parent ‘Hood. She went on to appear in the movies Booty Call, Can’t Hardly Wait, The Wood, and Blue Streak. During this period, she also mostly had one-time roles on various shows. Her first recurring role was as Tina in Veronica’s Closet. She had her first starring role as Bobbie Seawright in the sitcom For Your Love, which she starred in from 1998-2002. She later played Tonya, a recurring character in One on One.

Her next starring role on TV was as Alicia Mitchell in The Tracy Morgan Show. During this period, she also had performances in the films Next Friday, Turn It Up, The Ladies Man, Kingdom Come, Head of State, and Daddy Day Camp. She gained wider recognition after landing the role of Lanie Parish in the ABC series Castle, starring the said part from 2009-2016. Simultaneously, she acted in some films such as 35 and Ticking and Act of Faith, as well as guest-starred in the TV shows Party Down and The Soul Man. Her recent role on TV was as Robin on Speechless.

Apart from following a healthy diet plan, the film and TV actress stays in shape by sticking to an active lifestyle. The combination of proper nutrition and exercise has since helped her maintain a great physique despite being in her 40s. So, what’s her workout routine like? The actress got candid in an interview.

“For fitness, I love the treadmill, swimming, and hiking—things that work the whole body. I don’t have a trainer because scheduling is tough, so I sneak in activity whenever I can. My home isn’t very close to where we shoot Castle, so sometimes I spend the night at a friend’s house that is closer to the studio and walk to work,” revealed the actress.
