Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino started her career as an extra during the 1980s. She eventually landed her first credited role in the ’90s with the film Amongst Friends. She next had roles in the movies Quiz Show, Sweet Nothing, and Barcelona prior to gaining success for her performance in the film Mighty Aphrodite. For her work here, she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. This, of course, improved her status in Hollywood. She later played Romy White in the comedy film Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion.

During this period, she also starred in the films Mimic, The Replacement Killers, Free Money, At First Sight, and Summer of Sam. Meanwhile, on TV, she debuted in the drama series Swans Crossing in 1992. She also portrayed Marilyn Monroe in the 1996 movie Norma Jean & Marilyn. In the 2000s, she had performances in the films The Grey Zone, WiseGirls, Gods and Generals, The Final Cut, and Reservation Road. Continuing her career in the 2010s, she played recurring character Betsy Brannigan in Psych and Sara in Falling Skies. In 2014, she played Amy Whelan in the short-lived series Intruders, followed by her role as Vicki Gregg in Stalkers. This year, she played Marty Ross in Condor and Nicole Rosemary Page in Modern Family.

Apart from her healthy diet plan, the acclaimed actress takes care of her body and overall well-being by sticking to an active lifestyle. While she admits that working out regularly is a challenge, she still tries her best to get herself moving. “I used to work out a lot more, but with the kids, there’s really not the time to do it every day,” said the actress. “When I can, I’ll go out for a quick walk or run on the beach. Or when my kids play in the pool, I’ll try to sneak some laps around them. But they won’t always let me because they want to play Marco Polo with me!”
