Tadanobu Asano is a Japanese actor. He started his career on television during the 1980s. The following decade, he mostly worked in Japan where he starred in several films and performed in TV shows. In the 2000s, he began his work abroad where he performed in Korean and Thai films. In the 2010s, he gained recognition for his role as Hogun in Thor. He next starred in the Hollywood film Battleship and reprised his role in Thor: The Dark World. He went on to perform in the movie 47 Ronin. In 2016, he appeared in Martin Scorsese’s film Silence. He starred as Hogun once again in Thor: Ragnarok. More recently, he starred in the movie The Outsider.
