Sophia Lillis was born on February 13, 2002 in Crown Heights, New York City, U.S. She began acting when she was seven. She later trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. In 2014, she made her film debut in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Two years later, she appeared in the movie 37.

In 2017, she gained mainstream recognition for starring as Beverly Marsh in the horror film It. She received MTV Movie Award and Saturn Award nominations for her role in the movie. She next played Young Camille Preaker in the HBO miniseries Sharp Objects. She will play as the titular character in the upcoming film Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase.
