Hollywood star Shalita Grant had her career beginnings in the 2010s. She made her acting debut playing the role of Sergeant Nora Swan in an episode of THe Good Wife. Her next role came years later, guest-starring in Bones. Grant came to prominence after landing the part of Sonja Percy in NCIS: New Orleans (2015-2018). Starting as a recurring character, she was ultimately promoted to main cast for seasons 2-4.

During this period, she also had guest appearances in Melissa & Joey, Battle Creek, and NCIS. In 2016, she played recurring character Aurelia Johnson in the period drama Mercy Street. More recently, the actress starred as Agent Tess Rogers, a recurring role in Netflix’s Santa Clarita Diet. This year, she starred as Cassidy in the dark comedy thriller Search Party. Grant is also set to play the role of Sherry in Netflix’s You for its Season 3. To add, she starred as Cassandra in the comedy play Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike. For her performance, she received a Tony Award nomination.

In an interview with People, Shalita Grant became candid about her diet plan. For her, healthy eating isn’t just about staying fit and lean, it’s also about being efficient in the kind of work that she does. “I have a chef come in every day and prepare my meals,” said the actress. “There is no way I could do the stunt work, stay up as late as I have to, or be outside in the heat if I’m eating poorly. That means I can’t eat craft services!”

As for the type of diet she follows, she mostly sticks to a vegetarian and vegan diet, though she eats fish every now and then. She also avoids mindless eating to do away with unnecessary calories. Her diet advice? “Eat to fuel your body, not to stuff your feelings,” said the TV actress.
