Kelly Reilly was born on July 18, 1977 in Surrey, England, UK. In 1995, she made her acting debut on the TV series The Biz. In the next few years, made guest appearances on the TV shows The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Bramwell, Sharman, and Pie in the Sky, as well as in several TV movies and miniseries. She then started a film career in the 2000s with her big screen debut in the movie Maybe Baby.
In 2003, she rose to stardom as a stage actress for her performance in After Miss Julie, for which she got a Laurence Olivier Theatre Award nomination for Best Actress. It was also around this time that she played notable roles in such films as The Libertine, Russian Dolls, and Me and Orson Welles. She also played Caroline Bingley in Pride & Prejudice and Mary Morstan in Sherlock Holmes, a role she reprised in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. In 2015, she started playing Vince Vaughn’s wife Jordan in True Detective‘s Season 2.
