Samuel West is an English actor. He debuted back in 1975 when he appeared in an episode of Edward the Seventh. Later in 1989, he made his cinematic debut in the film Reunion. In the 1990s, his film career became prolific. He starred in the 1992 film Howards End, which got him a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He next portrayed Steven Waldorf in Open Fire and Gerald Brenan in Carrington. In the following decade, West had performances in the films Complicity, Pandaemonium, and Van Helsing. He was also the narrator of the show The Private Life of a Masterpiece. In the 2010s, he starred as Frank Edwards in the period drama Mr Selfridge. West also portrayed Sir Anthony Eden in the war drama film Darkest Hour.
