Raymond Cruz is an American actor. He had his career beginnings in the 1980s, debuting in the 1987 film Maid to Order. He also made one-time roles on some TV shows during this period. In the 1990s, he had roles in the films Out for Justice, Under Siege, and The Substitute. He then played Ding Chavez in the movie Clear and Present Danger, as well as played Private Vincent DiStephano in Alien: Resurrection. In 1999, he appeared as Jesus in From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money. The following decade, Cruz had performances in the films Training Day, Collateral Damage, and Havoc. He then became widely known for his role as Detective Julio Sanchez in the TNT series The Closer. He reprised his role in the spin-off Major Crimes. He’s also best known for his portrayal of Tuco Salamanca in Breaking Bad. He reprised that role in Better Call Saul. In 2019, he starred in the horror film The Curse of La Llorona.
