Rachel Nichols was born on January 8, 1980 in Augusta, Maine, USA. She attended Columbia University where she began modeling, and eventually graduated with a double major in Math and Economics.

Her acting debut was in an episode of Sex and the City in 2002. Later that year she landed a role in her first film, Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. She then appeared in films like The Amityville Horror and The Woods.

She gained recognition playing Rachel in the television series Alias from 2005 to 2006. In 2007, she had her first starring role in the horror-thriller P2.
