Hollywood star Pamela Anderson first came to prominence after becoming Playmate of the Month for Playboy in February 1990. She made the most of her new-found fame and ventured into film and television. After making guest appearances, she landed her first recurring role as Lisa in the sitcom Home Improvement. She later rose to wider recognition for starring Casey Jean “C.J.” Parker in Baywatch.

She has since reprised her role in a few sequels like in the direct-to-video film Baywatch: White Thunder at Glacier Bay. In the 2000s, she starred in the features Scary Movie 3, Superhero Movie, and Blonde and Blonder. She also played the lead of Vallery Irons in the series V.I.P. From 2005 to 2006, she starred as Skyler Dayton in Stacked. Her latest films are The People Garden and 2017’s Baywatch starring Dwayne Johnson.

The 50-year-old actress stays in shape by sticking to a vegan lifestyle. Talking about her decision to go vegan, she explained: “I never was a big meat eater. My dad hunted. We ate venison and moose meat. I didn’t have a taste for it.” She then decided to give up meat after learning more about slaughterhouses. She later said: “After I removed dairy I felt like a new person. Everything improved. My digestion, my skin, hair. It just doesn’t belong in our bodies.”

Now that she’s vegan, what’s her daily diet like? She said: “I devour avocados, espresso with nondairy creamer and agave. I make homemade peanut butter (with my Blendtec). I make gluten-free pizzas with non-dairy cheese. I enjoy quinoa pasta with sundried tomatoes, garlic, pine nuts and spinach. I make vegan bolognaise.” Her advice for thos who want to start a plant-based diet? She said: “PETA.org has vegetarian starter kits and vegan cook books; just start with steaming or roasting vegetables, a little oil, salt, pepper, lemon and garlic. You can’t go wrong.”
