Biography:

Olivia Williams was born on 26 July 1968 in Camden Town, London, England. She trained in acting at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She next attended Royal Shakespeare Company. In 1992, she made her television debut in Van der Valk. Her first notable role was as Jane Fairfax in the TV movie Emma. She eventually ventured into film with her debut in The Postman. She next had roles in the movies Rushmore and The Sixth Sense.

In 2004, she played the titular character in Agatha Christie: A Life in Pictures. She then portrayed Jane Austen in the BBC drama film Miss Austen Regrets. In the 2000s, she also had roles in the films The Man from Elysian Fields, Peter Pan, Valiant, and An Education. Her role as Ruth Lang in 2010’s The Ghost Writer earned her acclaim. She also joined the main casts of the TV shows Dollhouse as Adelle DeWitt and Manhattan as Liza Winter.
