Actor Nolan Gerard Funk had his career beginnings in 2001, first appearing in an episode of Seven Days. He next had one-time roles in Romeo! and Taken. His first film role was in 2003’s X2 where he had a small role. He later played recurring role Ben Lalonde in the Canadian series Renegadepress.com. He later had performances in the movies Hollow Man 2, Deadgirl, and Spectacular! During this period, he had several guest appearances on television, including The L Word, Smallville, Killer Instinct, The Dead Zone, Alice, I Think, and Supernatural. He had also roles in the TV films A Girl Like Me: The Gwen Araujo Story and The Obsession.

In 2007, he played Todd Palladino in Aliens in America. In the 2010s, he became further known for his works both on film and television. For the former, he had performances in Triple Dog, Bereavement, House at the End of the Street, Evidence, and The Canyons. He later played a supporting role in the film Riddick opposite Vin Diesel. Back on TV, he had recurring roles in Warehouse 13 and Glee. He went on to play Collin Jennings in Awkward. His most recent films were in American Romance, Hello Again, and Truth or Dare. This year, he played Angel Eyes in the sci-fi thriller series Counterpart. He also appeared as Josh in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

For his role in the movie Riddick, the actor upped his workout routine to improve his physique. Being in an action film sort of makes this as a requirement. So, how did he get ready for this? “I hit the gym with a bunch of wrestlers I was working with,” said the 32-year-old actor. As for his normal fitness regimen, he shared: “I’m a big Cross Fitter. I’ve also gotten into running this year. I find that it’s a good way to train your mind. And, I’m known to hit the beach and jump up on the rings. Sometimes I cycle. If it’s active, it’s good! I just like to switch it up.”
