Max Minghella was born on September 16, 1985 in Hampstead, London, England, UK. His father is the Academy Award-winning director Anthony Minghella. He first appeared in the short films Toy Boys and Let the Good Times Roll before making his film debut with Bee Season in 2000.

He has since starred in other movies including Syriana, Art School Confidential, Elvis and Anabelle, How to Lose Friends & Alienate People, Brief Interviews with Hideous Men, Agora and Hippie Hippie Shake.

In 2010, he was cast as Divya Narendra in David Fincher’s Award-winning film The Social Network, gaining him wider fame as a performer. Other films include The Ides of March, The Darkest Hour, 10 Years and many others.
