Judy Davis is an Australian actress whose career started in the 1970s. She made her debut in the 1977 film High Rolling. She then gained acclaim for her performance in 1979’s My Brilliant Career, for which she won a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. In the 1980s, she had roles in the films Winter of Our Dreams and Who Dares Wins. Her performance in the 1984 movie A Passage to India earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. In the 1990s, she rose to further fame for her role in the Hollywood film Husbands and Wives, for which she gained Academy and Golden Globe nominations for Best Actress. Other notable roles were in Marie Antoinette, The Eye of the Storm, and The Dressmaker.
