Jonathan Pryce is a Welsh actor. He had his career beginnings in the 1970s. After roles on television, he made his film debut in 1976’s Voyage of the Damned. In the 1980s, he portrayed Martin Luther in Martin Luther, Heretic. He later garnered attention for his role in the movie Brazil. His career became more prolific in the ’90s, during which he had performances in the Hollywood films Glengarry Glen Ross, The Age of Innocence, Evita, Tomorrow Never Dies, and Ronin. He went on to play supporting roles in the movies The Affair of the Necklace, The Brothers Grimm, and The New World. He then played Governor Weatherby Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and its sequels. In the 2010s, Pryce became known for playing the The High Sparrow in Game of Thrones. In 2019, he co-starred in the movie The Two Popes.
