Jodie Whittaker is an English actress. She made her debut in the mid 2000s, getting her first film role in Venus. For her performance here, she got a British Independent Film Award. She next appeared in the British films St Trinian’s and its sequel St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold, as well as White Wedding, among others. She had also starred on the miniseries Tess of the D’Urbervilles and Wired. Her career flourished in the 2010s, receiving praise for her role in the film Attack the Block. She later became known for starring as Beth Latimer on the British series Broadchurch. It was recently announced that she was cast as The Thirteenth Doctor on Doctor Who, the first female doctor to star on the show.
