Janhvi Kapoor is an Indian actress. Prior to pursuing an acting career in Bollywood, she studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in the US. In 2018, she made her professional acting debut as Parthavi Singh Rathore in the film Dhadak. For this she won the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. She landed more roles afterward, starting with playing Sameera in the Hindi anthology series Ghost Stories. She next made a special appearance as herself in the movie Angrezi Medium. Kapoor went on to play the titular character in the feature film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl.
