Prior to her modeling career, Gigi Hadid was a competitive horseback rider. After high school, she moved to New York to study and pursue a career in modeling. She enrolled at The New School where she studied criminal psychology. She left to focus on her modeling. Initially, she had her first modeling stint at age 2 where she modeled for Baby Guess. She stopped to prioritize her studies but returned in 2011.

The following year, she was featured in a Guess ad campaign. After signing with IMG Models, she made her New York Fashion Week debut in 2014. At the same time, she graced the cover of CR Fashion Book magazine. She then appeared in a couple of Tom Ford campaigns. She went on to walk the runways for such fashion designers as Marc Jacobs, Chanel, Michael Kors, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Max Mara. Simultaneously, she appeared in Taylor Swift’s music video of the song “Bad Blood”.

Late in 2015, she made her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut. During this period, she also had her first American Vogue cover, followed by appearing on the covers of other prominent magazines. In November 2016, she appeared as co-host of American Music Awards. More recently, she worked with Valentino, Moschino, Versace, and Fendi for high-fashion campaigns. She also made a cameo in the Hollywood movie Ocean’s 8.

Gigi Hadid is naturally active. In addition to exercising as regularly as possible, her sporty and adventurous lifestyle also helps a great deal when it comes to maintaining her svelte figure. She was captain of the varsity volleyball in high school and was also a horseback rider. Currently, she boxes with her trainer at Gotham Gym in New York.

In an interview, she revealed that her being competitive pushes her to train harder. “My trainer will tell me the women’s records for different things at the gym, and I’ll have to beat one by the end of the day or I won’t leave,” Hadid said.
