Freya Allan was born on 6 September 2001 in Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Deeply interested in performing, she attended the National Film and Television School to train. As part of her drama classes, she acted in a few short films. She went on to study at the Arts University Bournemouth. In 2018, she made her professional acting debut in an episode of the US series Into the Badlands. She next landed a one-time role in an episode of the TV series The War of the Worlds.
Freya Allan successfully auditioned for the role of Ciri in the Netflix series, The Witcher, which she played when it premiered in 2019. The show became a hit for the streaming service, gaining the actress mainstream recognition. While starring on the series, she also starred as Kali in the HBO and Sky Atlantic TV production, The Third Day.
On the big screen, Allan made her debut in the 2021 film Gunpowder Milkshake. In the movie, she played the younger version of the lead character Sam, while Karen Gillan played the adult version. Season 2 of The Witcher returns this year, which means fans will see more of Freya Allan as she reprises her popular character.
