Florence Welch was born on August 28, 1986 in Camberwell, London, England. She is known as the lead singer of the indie rock band Florence + the Machine. The band released their debut album Lungs in the UK on July 26, 2009.

The album was successful, reaching Number 1 in the UK and Number 2 in Ireland. After a month of its release, the album has sold over 100,000 copies in the UK.

They went on to release their second album Ceremonials on October 31, 2011. It was also successful, reaching Number 1 on the UK Albums Chart and peaked at Number 6 on the US Billboard 200.
