Later in 1976, he gained recognition for his role as Apollo Creed in the film Rocky. He has since reprised this character in the sequels Rocky II, Rocky III, and Rocky IV. In the 1980s, he starred in the films Predator and Action Jackson while he played title role in the 1992 film Hurricane Smith. Also in the 1990s, he starred as Adam Beaudreaux in the TV series Street Justice and Police Chief Hampton Forbes in In the Heat of the Night. Most recently, he starred as Greef Karga in the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Also, he had voice roles in the 2019 films Toy Story 4 and Pinky Malinky.
