Callie Thorne was born on November 20, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.. After high school, she attended Wheaton College where she studied theater and dramatic literature. She also trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. She made her debut in the movie Ed’s Next Move in 1996. She then landed a regular role on the TV series Homicide: Life on the Street. She starred on the TV show from 1997 to 1999.
In the 2000s, she had guest appearances on the TV shows The $treet and Third Watch. She next had recurring roles on The Wire and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Her biggest break was as Sheila Keefe on Rescue Me, which she played from 2004 to 2011. Simultaneously, she had recurring roles on ER and Prison Break. After Rescue Me, she starred on the TV series Necessary Roughness as the lead star. Her most recent gig on TV was on The Mysteries of Laura.
