Bethany Joy Lenz was born on April 2, 1981 in Hollywood, Florida, USA. She began singing at the age of three at The Carpenter’s Church in Lakeland, Florida.

She took dance, tap, jazz, acting and theatre classes at The Creative Arts Theatre and School.

At the age of 17, she landed the role of Michelle Bauer Santos in the soap opera Guiding Light.

She gained wider recognition in 2003 when she was cast as Haley James in the hit series One Tree Hill.
