Austin Mahone was born on April 4, 1996 in San Antonio, Texas. His musical career started when he started posting videos on YouTube, followed with music videos, building an online following.

In 2012, he was signed with Chase/Universal Republic Records, releasing his first single “11:11”, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard Heatseekers Songs chart. The following year, MTV named him one of the “Artists To Watch”.

He then went on to release his second single “Say Somethin”, which charted better than his previous song. In addition, he was chosen as one of the opening acts for Taylor Swift’s Red Tour.
