Anna Torv

It was in 2002 that Aussie beauty Anna Torv started her screen career in her native Australia. Her debut was in the TV series White Collar Blue. Her first starring role was as Irena Nedov in the Australian show Young Lions. She next played the lead role Nikki Martel in the show The Secret Life of Us. During this period she also made her film debut in 2003’s Travelling Light. Her next movie was in 2006’s The Book of Revelation. She soon started a career in the US after securing the role of Olivia Dunham in Fringe. She simultaneously played Virginia Grey in the miniseries The Pacific. This year, she starred the role of Wendy Carr in the Netflix series Mindhunter. She also starred in the movie Stephanie.

The 38-year-old actress stays in shape by living a healthy lifestyle. For one, she’s particularly active. She loves moving around and exercising. In fact, her physical activities are what helps her to manage stress. In an interview, she said: “When I’m stressed, I go for a walk–breathing deep and taking in the horizon. That’s what Australians call a 10-yard stare. I go fast and squeeze my butt muscles as I walk.”

“And every now and then, when I’m feeling tired, I’ll go to my dressing room and do yoga stretches to get loose. Reading is another great way to de-stress; it takes me to another world. I’m salivating to start The Gathering, by Irish novelist Anne Enright,” she added. Anna also loves the outdoors. Whenever she has free time, she spends a great deal of it integrating with nature. She revealed: “I’m a huge camper, and love hiking and mountain biking. Since my show is filmed in New York City, I’ve been able to go to the Hudson Valley, in upstate New York, on weekends.”
