Alex Curran was born on September 23, 1982 in Aintree, Merseyside, England. She first became known as a model before she became a writer for a weekly column for the Daily Mirror called “Go Shopping With Alex Curran”.

From 2009 until January 2013, she also wrote a column for OK! Magazine. She gained wider recognition when she married Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard.
