Biography:

Tom Cruise was born on July 3, 1962 in Syracuse, New York. He first appeared in the 1981 film Endless Love with a small part.

He then starred in Risky Business, which was described as his breakthrough, and together with his starring role in Top Gun, cemented his status as a superstar.

In 1989, he played Ron Kovic in Oliver Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July. His performance earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor.

He went on to receive his second Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of the title character in the 1996 film Jerry Maguire.
