Biography:

Embeth Davidtz was born on August 11, 1965 in Lafayette, Indiana, U.S. She attended Rhodes University in Grahamstown where she graduated with a degree in English Literature.

At the age of 21, she made her acting debut playing Juliet in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet with Artscape in Cape Town. In 1988, she made her film debut with the horror feature Mutator.

She then relocated to Los Angeles in 1992 and immediately secured her first role in Sam Raimi’s Army of Darkness. She gained further notice when Steven Spielberg cast her as Helen Hirsch in Schindler’s List. She also came to wider fame as Miss Jennifer Honey in the movie Matilda.
