Biography:

Zac Efron was born on October 18, 1987 in San Luis Obispo, California. He appeared in high school theatre productions and worked in The Great American Melodrama and Vaudeville. He also started taking voice lessons.

In 2006, he became known as a teen idol as a result of his portrayal of Troy Bolton in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical. He reprised his role in High School Musical 2 and High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

He has since appeared in a variety of films, including Hairspray, 17 Again, Me and Orson Welles and Charlie St. Cloud, among others.
