Niall Matter is a Canadian actor. His acting career started in the mid-2000s. He made his debut in the television series The Best Years with a starring role. He next appeared as Lt. Kemp in Stargate Atlantis. His breakthrough role was as Zane Donovan in the popular Syfy series Eureka. He later made his film debut in the 2009 movie Watchmen. While working in Eureka, he had recurring roles as Rick Paxton in Melrose Place and as Greg in 90210. After Eureka ended in 2012, he joined the main cast of the show Primeval: New World. His latest role is as Shane Cantrell in the show When Calls the Heart.
