Michael Kelly is an American actor. He started acting professionally in the 1990s. He debuted on the TV series Lifestories: Families in Crisis. His first starring role on TV was as Wilbert ‘Tibbs’ Thibodeaux on the short-lived show Level 9. He later played Michael Kaufman in the film Man on the Moon. In the 2000s, he had performances in several films, including Unbreakable, Dawn of the Dead, Invincible, and Changeling, among others.
He also became known for playing Agent Ron Goddard on HBO’s The Sopranos and Capt. Bryan Patterson on the miniseries Generation Kill. In the 2010s, he starred as Jonathan “Prophet” Sims on Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Mark Snow on Person of Interest. From 2013 to 2018, he starred as Douglas “Doug” Stamper on House of Cards, earning him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor. Recently, he stars as Mike November on the Amazon series Jack Ryan.
