Michael K. Williams is an American actor. In 1995, he debuted in the film Mugshot. His first television role was in an episode of Law & Order. He gained wider recognition in the 2000s for playing Omar Little in The Wire. At the same time, he had roles in the films Doing Hard Time, Bondage, Mercenary for Justice, and Gone Baby Gone. He also had recurring roles in Alias, Six Degrees, The Kill Point, and The Philanthropist. He then became further known for his role as Chalky White in Boardwalk Empire. His portrayal of Jack Gee in the 2015 TV movie Bessie earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination. He next starred as Freddy Knight in The Night Of, which also got him another Primetime Emmy nomination. As of 2016, he hosts Black Market with Michael K. Williams. In 2019, he starred as Bobby McCray in the miniseries When They See Us. In addition, he’s had roles in the films The Purge: Anarchy, Inherent Vice, The Gambler, Ghostbusters, Assassin’s Creed, and The Red Sea Diving Resort.
