Meera Jasmine is an Indian actress. She’s mainly recognized for her work in South Indian cinema. In 2001, she made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Soothradharan. She next had roles in the Tamil movies Run, Bala, and Pudhiya Geethai. In 2003, she received much acclaim for her performance in the Malayalam movie Paadam Onnu: Oru Vilapam.

For her work here, she won the National Film Award for Best Actress. For her role in the Tamil film Kasthuri Maan, Jasmine won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award. She continued to bag Best Actress awards, this time at Filmfare, for her roles in the films Kasthoorimann, Achuvinte Amma, and Ore Kadal.
