Biography:

Lewis Tan was born on February 4, 1987 in Manchester, United Kingdom; however, he grew up in Los Angeles and also lived in several countries such as France, Thailand, Spain, and China. Being born to a martial artist/actor father and a model mother, Lewis Tan has sought a career in the entertainment industry in his later life. His father also worked as a fight coordinator for Tim Burton’s 1989 film Batman, which prompted the family’s move to Los Angeles. At an early age, he trained in both martial arts and acting.

Just like his father, he began doing stunts on both television and film, debuting in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. In 2006, he had his acting debut in an episode of CSI: NY. He later did another stunt work for the film Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. He’s also appeared as an extra in some movies. In the 2010s, he got more work as an actor, landing speaking guest appearances in CSI: Miami, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, and Rush Hour. He then had a notable role, playing the part of Zhou Cheng in Netflix’s Iron Fist.

In 2015, he had his first cinematic role in the film Sacrifice. After appearing as an extra in Den of Thieves, he played Rusty / Shatterstar in Deadpool 2. Lewis Tan also gained notice for his role as Gaius Chau in the TV series Into the Badlands. He became further known when he starred as Lu Xin Lee in the Netflix series Wu Assassins. More recently, Lewis Tan attained more popularity when he played the lead role of Cole Young in 2021’s Mortal Kombat. He’ll also reprise his role as Lu Xin Lee in the upcoming movie Wu Assassins: Fistful of Vengeance.

With all his hard work and dedication, it would seem that Lewis Tan’s acting career has finally taken off. Apart from the upcoming projects mentioned above, the actor has also landed other roles, such as the romantic comedy film About Fate where he stars alongside Emma Roberts. Tan was also cast for the lead role of Harris Chang on the upcoming thriller series Quantum Spy based on novel of the same name.
