Lauren Graham was born on March 16, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S. She attended Barnard College of Columbia University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature in 1988.
Her first television appearance was as Shelly in the series Caroline in the City. She has since appeared in other shows including 3rd Rock from the Sun, Seinfeld, Law & Order, and many others.
She then gained wider recognition after being cast as Lorelai Gilmore in the series Gilmore Girls. She has also appeared in such films as Sweet November, Evan Almighty and Because I Said So, among others.
