Jim Beaver is an American actor. His acting career began in the 1970s with uncredited film roles and guest appearances on TV. In the 1980s, he also played small roles in some films. It was in the ’90s that his career became more substantial, playing a recurring role in Santa Barbara and starring in the shows Reasonable Doubts and Thunder Alley. He also appeared in the movies Joy Ride, Wheelmen, Adaptation, and The Life of David Gale. He also starred as Father Timothy Jansen in the soap opera Days of Our Lives. In the 2000s, he starred as Whitney Ellsworth in the TV series Deadwood. It was, however, his role as Bobby Singer in Supernatural that gained him mainstream fame. At the same time, he played Sheriff Shelby Parlow in Justified. Also in the 2010s, he starred in the films The Frontier, Crimson Peak, and Juvenile.
