Hilarie Burton was born on July 1, 1982 in Sterling, Virginia, USA. She moved to New York to go to school and to pursue acting. Shortly after, she landed the MTV VJ job and went on to become the host of MTV’s Total Request Live.

Her acting debut was when she portrayed herself in the teen drama Dawson’s Creek in 2002. She gained wider recognition in films such as Solstice, Our Very Own and The List.

She is also known as Peyton Sawyer in One Tree Hill, Sara Ellis in White Collar and Dr. Lauren Boswell in Grey’s Anatomy.
