Biography:

Farhan Akhtar was born on January 9, 1974 in Mumbai, India. His parents, Javed Akhtar and Honey Irani, are both screenwriters. He attended HR College in Mumbai to study commerce but dropped out to pursue a career in film.

He then began to work off-screen, serving as the assistant director in the 1991 film Lamhe and in the 1997 film Himalay Putra.

In 2001, he made his directorial debut in the film Dil Chahta Hai, which received positive reviews and went on to win a National award.

He then made his acting debut in the 2008 film Rock On!!. playing the role of Aditya Shroff.
