Evanna Lynch was born on August 16, 1991 in Termonfeckin, Ireland. She attended the Centre for the Talented Youth of Ireland where she studied speculative fiction and drama.

In 2006, she auditioned and got the role of Luna Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix at the age of 14. The film became her debut screen performance the following year.

She reprised her role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
