Colm Meaney is an Irish actor with a career spanning decades. In 1981, he made his film debut in Nailed. In the 1990s, he appeared in the films Die Hard 2, Dick Tracy, Under Siege, and The Last of the Mohicans. He was then praised for his performance in 1993’s The Snapper. This got him a Golden Globe nomination. During this period, he gained recognition for his role as Chief Miles O’Brien in the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation. He reprised his role in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Also in the 2000s, he had roles in such films as Layer Cake, Battle of the Brave, and Kings, among others. From 2011 to 2016, he starred as Thomas “Doc” Durant in AMC’s Hell on Wheels.
