Biography:

Charles Esten was born on September 9, 1965, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S. He graduated with a degree in economics from the College of William and Mary. In the early 1990s, he went to the UK where he had his theatrical debut in the musical Buddy. He next appeared in the British comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

He later became a regular performer of the US version of the show from 1999 to 2005, then recently in 2017 until the present. At the same time, he had recurring roles in the TV shows Drew Carey’s Green Screen Show, The Office, and Big Love. He was also a regular performer in Drew Carey’s Improv-A-Ganza in 2011. Esten became further known for his dramatic role as Deacon Claybourne in Nashville. Recently, he played Saul Barlow in Tell Me Your Secrets.
